Happy Friday to everyone! Today I would like to share with you a Vintage look altered memory box/ gift box that I designed. I love taking ordinary things and making them extra ordinary with my own 2 hands. Something about watching something transform right before my eyes, gives me great joy. I created this box using one of the gorgeous Berry71Bleu tags that Marivic carries in her Etsy Shop. These tags make creating something unique easy and fun!
I started with a paper mache 12 x 4 box. Painted it with Gesso, and then layered on the distressed edge paper pieces with Mod Podge.
I ran Prima, crochet lace down the sides, and then added the oh, so, gorgeous tag onto the front side.
I repeated the flower piece on the front side of the lid.
I punched and set eyelets into the sides of the box and attached a piece of hand dyed seam binding for a handle. I then took multiple pieces of ribbon in different shades of pink and tied them onto the handle and then placed Paper Wishes Butterflies from my Etsy Shop onto the ribbons on both sides of the box.
For the other 3 sides of the lid and the top, I distress stamped an Ephemera look onto them to complete that Vintage look that I love so much.
I hope you enjoyed a look at the process I use to make everyday items take on a whole new function.
Hope you have a great weekend!! ~Renea

I stamped some leaves onto cream card stock with a Heartfelt Creations Rose Leaf Stamp, and then cut it out using the matching Spellbinder's Die. I did trim some of the flourishes off so that the swirls were not hanging to far off the sides. I then took a pre-made flower, and then 2 Shabby Mauve Texture Roses from my Etsy Shop, and adhered them to the top of the foliage.
