Scraps Of Elegance is the only club to feature these exquisite butterfly embellishments.

So, grab your forensics kits, CSI members, and get ready for some serious sleuthing as CSI  opens Case File No. 41.

Here is the gorgeous color pallette:

And here is my entry as a Guest Detective:

I used lots of layers of past kit papers, flowers and embellishments to pull the CSI color scheme together.

Here you can see where I stamped with puffies for lots of texture and added some of those Flourish With A Bling Pearls for accents. The ruffle (one of the CSI evidence promps)  is crepe paper (another evidence prompt). I coated my edges with lots of tinted glitter glass and seed beads to get even more yummy texture.

The mat behind the photo is painted corrugated board with seed bead accents and shimmer paints.

I chose a sweet Vintage image of 2 little girls sharing Secrets, the Testimony Prompt of the Case File, and also journaled with "Curiousity Is Lying In Wait For Every Secret."

This was my first time playing along with the challenge, and it is definitly challenging, but also a lot of fun. I hope you get a chance to check it out and play along, and get in on some of those spectacular prizes!!! Thanks for stopping by to share a few secrets, but don't worry I won't tell-lol!! ~Renea

Scraps of Darkness/Elegance Card Challenge

We have sooooo much fun stuff going on over in the Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance forum right now. We have lots of new challenges springing up in the Challenge Forums and one of them is being hosted by Lisa N. (Raining), and it is a card challenge. The challenge is to create a 6 x 6 card with some type of stamping on it. Lisa even created a gorgeous sketch to go along with the challenge:

Here is my just for fun entry to this FAB challenge:

I used a piece of plain, pink card stock along with  this month's Scraps of Elegance-Dreams of You Kit Paper to create the background. I did some machine sewing to createa border, and then added on a paper Doillie and then one of the My Mind's Eye stickers from the kit.

Next I die cut a shape out and then stamped the sentiment "Friends fill your life with joy, Your soul with sunshine, and your heart with love and attached it to the die cut. I then blinged it up with some crystals, and some Rubber Cafe Teal Jellies.

I misted some Studio 75 Summer & Latte chipboard then stamped wome leaves using The Rubber Cafe's Leaf Set 1, fussy cut them out, and then placed a Prima Rose from my stash on top. To finish out the card I popped a mini set of  Tiny Dancer Butterflies  from my Etsy Shop on for dimension and shine.

Thank you Lisa for hosting this FAB challenge, and thank you for visiting my blog!! I hope you get a chance to play along with a challenge, and a card challenge is always a great way to participate if you are short on time. Hope you have a great weekend!! ~Renea

Scraps Of Elegance Reveals The October Kit-Dreams Of You

Scraps Of Elegance reveals it's October Kit-Dreams of You, and all the gorgeous papers and embellishment will have you dreaming of romantic, frilly, layerlicious layouts!!!

With each kit, you get an amazing sketch done by the lovely Sue Pup, that will get your mojo flowing!

The following layout is my take on this month's sketch. It featured a beautiful wedding photo of  my husband Johnny's step daughter, Jen on her wedding day.

To replicate the circle shape in the sketch, I misted and layered on a Doillie, then punched a layer of the kit paper. I then misted 2 cloth Doillies that I found buried in my stash, and layered them under the photo.

I fussy cut out the hot air balloon, and flowers,  from some of the Prima papers and layered it onto the papers with foarm tape for dimenstion. I then gussied the hot air balloon up with some stash roses, die cuts and trims, along with one of the little My Mind's Eye brads from the Embellishment Add On.

I fussy cut out the scallped strip from another piece of paper and then layered the Prima crystal pieces on from the kit, adding one of the Webster's stickers from the E.A.O. onto the top. The butterflies are Sweet Dreams Butterflies from my Etsy Shop-My Glitter Coated Life.

I created the flower layers using some flourishes that I cut out from card stock with my die cut machine, and then layered on flowers from the Flora & Fauna Add On, and from my stash.

This next layout, is loaded with layers and textures, and features a photo of one of my son's friends, Lauren when she got married this year. I love the sweet perspective of the photo and the colors were perfect for her wedding colors.

I created lots of distressed layers with the papers from the kit, card stock, cheese cloth, fibers, feathers, trim from my stash and from the kit, and I fussy cut the mat of the photo out from the transparency that was in the Embellishment Add On.

The green ribbon trim is from the kit and the little buttons are from the Embellishment add on. I fussy cut hydrangea pieces from the papers and then layered flowers from the Flora & Fauna add on, as well as some of my Seaside Blue Glitter Glass Flowers from my Etsy Shop-My Glitter Coated Life.

The Sugar & Spice Butterflies are also from my Etsy shop, and the little word stickers in the peek a boos are from the kit.

The large flower layer consists of a Petaloo chipboard piece from the kit that I embossed and stickled up then added little crystals for accents to. The flowers are from the Flora & Fauna Add On, and the sweet little lady bug bottle cap is one of the Prima Trinkets that was in the Embellishment Add On.

This next project is a 8 x 10 canvas that I crated using layers modeling paste, stamping, laces, mists, glitters, glitter glass, and seed beads. I love to take Scrapping off the page and canvas gives you so much texture to work with.

I layered a piece of the kit paper that I distressed and inked on to the mixed media canvas that I created, then took a Vintage image, inked the edges and layered it on. I took 2 Dusty Attic Flourishes and inked them with Mix'd Media Ink, then stamped with a Script stamp onto them, and added some of the My Mind's Eye brads from the Embellisment Add On onto them for detail.

Here you can see the modeling paste, lace layers, stamping, seed beads, and glitter detail of the canvas. I took some more Vintage lace and then some little sentiment stickers that I laid onto the journaling cards that were in the E.A.O. and distressed and glittered them up.

The right hand corner layer was created using the small frame from the E.A.O. a fussy cut and inked hot air balloon from the journaling cards in the E.A.O. and some flowers from my stash as well as 2 small Dusty Attic Flourishes that I inked and stamped. The Paper Wishes Butterflies are from my Etsy Shop-My Glitter Coated Life.

The bottom flower layer was created using the Webster's flower from the kit and some more stash flowers.

Here you can see some more of the details on my canvas.

Oh this kit has me dreaming of so many more layouts, unfortunately reality is pulling me back out off those dreams, but a girl can always dream in her head as the mundane goes by-lol!! I hope you enjoyed your visit! ~Renea
