Baking Up A Delicious Treat With Reneabouquets~

I recently signed up for a swap over at Chic Craftique to make a Faux Cupcake for my swap partner. When I signed up, I thought "Oh that looks fairly simple", well I literally "ate" my words. It is so much easier to bake up some real cupcakes than it was to create this little treat, but I did have a really fun time pushing myself to create something new~so I hope you like it!!!
I used lots of YUMMIES from the Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy to put together this Delicious Treat:

My swap partner, Mary Ann Ruiz, loves Shabby Chic and pinks so I wanted to create a piece that reflected that style and colors and took on a YUMMY confectionery look. I created a base from a pottery candle stick that I had in my upcycle bin. I coated it with Prima White Crackle Texture Paste, letting it air dry then inking over it with silver ink to bring out the crackle and give it an aged look. I then wrapped the stem with some of the rose lace I used on the cupcake. I then layered a paper doily over the top.

For the cupcake, I used a glass Mason Jelly Jar, and stuffed it with Teddy Bear Stuffing to create a "cupcake" shape.  I then took some more paper doilies and cut the center out, then pleated the lacy part around the lip of the jelly jar. I then took some Blush Pink Lace and wrapped the jar, then added a crystal band and topped it with a Anastasia Rhinestone Brooch for lots of bling!!

Next, I took one of the centers that I cut from the Doily and covered the top of the cupcake. I created icing using Ranger Texture Paste that I spread like icing using a Dina Wakley Palette Knife and I have to say it looks just like icing. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled it with Reneabouquets Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass and it looked so good, I just wanted to take a bite!!
I wrapped the base with some sweet pink rose lace.

For the top of the cupcake, I added a Shabby Chic Chiffon Flower

and for the Cherry On Top, I added one of my Reneabouquets Tiny Treasures Sweet Pea Glitter Glass Butterflies.

Here is a shot of the cupcake without the stand. I just love how tasty it turned out!! I hope Mary loves it and that you find the time to participate in one of the events that the scrappy community puts on. It is so much fun, you meet so many wonderful people and you can push yourself out of your comfort zone by trying new things~ Hugs ~Renea
