Sew Shabby Mini Album Created With The Scraps Of Darkness Weathered & Worn Kit & September Mood Board

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Today, I have a Sewing themed Shabby Chic Mini Album that I created with the Scraps Of Darkness August Kit~Weathered & Worn and the SOD/SOE September Mood Board that you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/scrapsofdarkness/

I took the worn look and textures of the photos as inspiration and ran with it throughout each page of the Mini.

I started with layers of distressed papers and then added trims from the kit and some of the Shabby Dreams Pink Crochet Lace from my Reneabouquets Shops.

The center dimensional piece is actually a plastic phone case that I upcycled by finger painting it with Dina Wakley White Gesso and then layered in burlap and cheesecloth, and some Prima Resin pieces. The ruler was cut from the papers and pleated, then I added flowers from the kit.
All the little metal pieces and bobbins come in a Reneabouquets Sewing Trinkets Set in my shops as well as the Princess Rhinestone Button, and Tiny Treasures Oh So Shabby Chic Butterflies.

The D-Rings feature Burlap, Cheesecloth, hand dyed seam binding and kit trim as well as a Victorian Key from the Reneabouquets Keys Trinket Set.

I always love to get a side shot so that you can see all the YUMMYness the Trims and layers create!

The first page features a photo spot with a pull out tag for journaling.
The Second Page features a journaling spot, Prima Button and Clothespin, as well as a sweet little canvas tag  from the kit, with a butterfly rub on accent.

The Second Page is actually one of the Melissa Frances bags from the kit that I turned into a page pocket that houses a Tim Holtz Curio card that you can slide a photo into.

Here is a photo of what the curio card looks like pulled out.

The Third Page features a journaling/photo spot.
The Fourth Page features a journaling/photo spot some more of the Shabby Dreams Pink Crochet Lace and a little chipboard thread spool with hand dyed seam binding. In the corner is a stash Prima Resin Corner and I ran some of the rope from the kit that I had left over from a layout I did along the page edge.
The Vintage Look Metal Scissors on the hang tags can be found in both my Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy Shops.

The Fifth page features a pocket I created from canvas then added trim from the kit at the top and Cluny Crochet Lace from my shops at the bottom. I added some little cut outs from the kit papers and attached them with a metal hinge clip and little paper clip and then tucked in some more cut outs into the pocket.

The Sixth Page is another one of the little bags turned into a pocket page with another Curio Cabinet Photo Card tucked in, and features space for journaling or photo(s).

Here are all the tuck ins pulled out.

The Seventh Page features trim pieces, a Prima Flair Button and a photo spot.

The Eighth Page features a burlap covered pocket with some of the kit trim at the bottom and cut outs tucked in, as well as a cut out that I turned into a hang tag.

Note Cards untucked.

And here is the back side of my album covered in some of the gorgeous kit papers.

I hope you have enjoyed a walk through my Mini Album and I hope you get a chance to come play along with the Scraps Of Darkness/ Scraps Of Elegance September Mood Board. If you don't have time to play, at least drop by and hang out with us!! There is lots of chit chat and inspiration, so be sure to drop by! Hugs ~Renea
