Happy February everybody! Hope you are having a very "Sweet" month, and have surrounded yourself with people you love, things you love, and have made time to do some of the things that you love to do. It is time for my monthly Scrapmatts Australian Chipboard Reveal, and in keeping with the Scrapmatt's "love is in the air" theme, I have created a a romantic memory pocket in a French Country theme that I love, with lots of little tuck ins to journal, store momentos and keep some of those most loved memories in.
Before I get started, I would like to credit the artist Cherry's Jubilee with this design. She had created a sewing pocket using manilla folders, and I just loved the basic design that she had created, so I took it, and altered it a bit and of course made it my own with my own style, but the basis of the design was completely inspired from her original~So thank you Cherry :)
Here I took a Scrapmatts CB 1092 Eiffel Tower piece and heat embossed it with Tim Holtz Distress Emboss Powder. I then took a CB1081 Silhouette 01 piece, colored it with Tim Holtz Distress Markers then attached a hand tinted mini rose and seam binding to her dress.
The "Memories" sentiment at the top corner of the front file folder is a CB 1168 Assorted Word Piece that I
heat embossed it with Tim Holtz Distress Emboss Powder.
I used some Scrapmatts CB1017 Keys that I inked, stamped and added german glitter glass and snaps to. I then added leftover burlap strings to these two, and tied them to a 7 gypsies aligator clip. I attached a smaller key to a Prima Piece on one of the tabs, along with a Sweet Memories handcrafted butterly from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.
I created lots of pull outs, and on one of the large ones that can be used for journaling and attaching photos to, I used the other part of the CB1081 Silhouette 01 piece for an accent.
Here you can see where I created a sweet envelope for storing small pieces in out of a Graphic 45 toggle envelope, layered with a Prima Journal Spot and a small Scrapmatts CB1028 Butterfly that I heat embossed with some Lindy's Magicals and added a hand tinted mini rose and wire antenna to.
This is the back side view of the whole piece.
This is a double sided punched tag with hand tinted seam binding ribbon that tucks in.

Next, I have a Mixed Media Canvas piece that is actually a self portrait. Scrapmatts participates in lots of Craft Shows and Fairs and they have their Design Team create an 8 x 10 Self Portrait Canvas, and then they take them with them and hang them all together. What a FABulous way to show off their Design Team and their beautiful products while showing others how their products can be used!
Here is my canvas piece and it is titled Lucky Me, because I feel so lucky to be a part of such a diverse, talented team!!
I used an 8 x 10 canvas, lots of Scrapmatts Chipboard and different techniques, and Scraps Of Elegance "A Dream Within A Dream" Kit pieces to create this piece. I did lots of technique work on the canvas piece before getting started. I first painted the whole piece in gesso, then misted it with multiple layers of Lindy's Mists, smooch painted areas, distress crackeled areas then accented them with glitter and seed beads, I did stamping with pearl work, and gel medium and stenciling for loads of texture, and visual interest.
The photo of me was taken by my son, Draven this past August, and I used a CB6011 Ornate Frame that I distress crackle painted in white, then went over with silver ink to bring out the crackle.
Here I took a CB1125 Hinge, and paired it with a piece from the CB1163 Ornate Frame Set then painted them, and then used rub ons to create the design pattern, and added some pearls for accents.
Tucked into my flowers is a sweet little MC1028 Micro Chip featuring a painted birdcage and a little bird that I colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers.
I love butterflies, so this Scrapmatts CB1015 Large Butterfly Chippie was a perfect addition. I painted it with white gesso then added fine silver glitter, and lots of white puff paint.
The title work was done using a small Prima tile with the sentiment "lucky" tucked into a CB1163 Ornate Frame that I painted and then stamped with a script stamp. I then took a "Me" Sentiment from the CB1157 Assorted Words Set, painted and stamped it, then took a CB1017 Key and heat embossed it and attached a little Prima pearl for accent, and layered it underneath the "Me".
Thank you for stopping by for my Scrapmatts Reveal!! I just love working with all that yummy chipboard, and hope that you have enjoyed all the different ways that I have used them. Hope you find the time to learn a new technique or just to create something new~Hugs, Renea
