Getting Sweetly Romantic With Tresors De Luxe~

Call me a romantic, but I love all things sweet and Shabby, so for today's Tresor De Luxe project, I have an altered book box that uses some of those gorgeous laces, a crochet heart applique and some flowers from the shop that refect my love of those two things.

I started with a paper mache book box, that I coated with gesso so that it is durable, and then I distressed and inked some sheet music paper and layered that on.

I then took some Tresors:
and ran it from the top side across the book "binding" side for a yummy cream on white, romantic look.

Next, I took a Tresors:
coated it with some fabric Stiffy, let that dry then added it to the corner on top of the sheet music paper.
I inked and layered in a corrugated board piece and,

then took a piece of Tresors:

Ivory Italian Embroidered Lace LA-160

and ran it across the bottom of the music sheet paper to get a layered, soft look.
I topped the corrugated board piece with a Shabby Chic Teddy Bear Tag  from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

To create the flower layer, I added on some stash flowers along with some Tresors:

Pack of 24 Light Pink Fabric Shabby Chic Roses

And a Tresors:
I completed the look of the book by adding a little ceramic curio knob and an inked up Scrapmatts Chipboard Sentiment "Beautiful".

Here is a side view that shows how I used a modeling paste and ink technique to simulate the look of pages, and then used some more of the Tresors:

Ivory Italian Embroidered Lace LA-160

to create a piece that ties the book closed with a big romantic bow.

The back side was inked then distress hand stamped than given a random layer of distress crackle finish that I then inked to simulate the look of a time worn book.

And the inside is finished out in a texture white on white finish and is so perfect for tucking in little treasures, momentos and photos.

Thank you for stopping by for a look at my romantic side. I hope you have enjoyed my sweetly romantic project! I know I have enjoyed your visit and your company! Hugs ~Renea

Inkido Design Team Reveal With The January Challenge~

Good morning everyone, and welcome to my very first post as a Design Team Member for Inkido!! For January we have a completely gorgeous challenge going on with the following photo for inspiration showing of the yummy "Scandinavian  Style" of decorating. Your entry can be a card, layout or off the page project, and I hope that you will join us!!

I was sooooo inspired by the white washed woods, soft pinks, grays and blues, and knew immediately that I wanted to take it off the page, and alter something wooden. I chose to alter a wooden book box with a pull out drawer, and here it is:

I used lots of those gorgeous, soft Paper Scandinavia  and Inkido products that you can find listed below with the links at the end of this post.

I first took a wooden book box, and painted it with gray acrylic, applied a crackle medium, and painted it again with white acrylic to get that shabby worn look like you see in the challenge photo.

I then layered in 5 different layers of Beautiful Memories Papers, distressing, sewing, tearing and inking the edges to add depth. I then took one of the yummy Corrugated Hearts from Paper Scandinavia and inked it up then "frosted" it with Snow Tex and German Glitter Glass.
The sweet little image inside the resin frame was one that I cut out from the Blue Angels Paper, and the metal clip is topped with a little Inkido Bling.

Here I layered in lace, feathers, a hand crafted flower, some Inkido Mulberry Paper Flowers, and a Beige Harmony Flower.

At the top I cut out a die cut butterfly and frosted it up and tucked it into my layers, then popped on the gorgeous Pink Harmony Flower Piece that reminded me of a Vintage Brooch.

Here you can see the "drawer" side of my box and all those yummy Paper Scandinavia and Inkido layers.

Here is the backside of my box with all that texture.

And here is the box with the drawer pulled out~so perfect for keepsakes and treasures!

I just loved working with all the soft and FABulous products, and I am so glad that you could join me for my first reveal with them!! Hugs to you~Renea

Dream Always~Tresors De Luxe

Welcome to Wednesday!! Today, I have a layout that I created using lots of those gorgeous Tresors De Luxe products, and it surrounds a photo of the principal dancer of the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Svetlana Zakharova By Henry Leutwyler. I love the way he captured her in such a dreamy state, and the title of my layout is "Dream Always". I wanted to show how you can use those Tresors products both traditionally and by adding your own touches of color.

I did lot of heavy tearing, distressing, distress punching and inking on the 2nd paper layer, then crackle painted the chipboard window frame and inked it in layers of color, and then cut my photo to fit the opening. I then ran a layer of Tresors
across the bottom of the framing.

I then 3 layer misted one of the Tresors
and topped it with a gorgeous Tresors
Large Rhinestone Brooch RH-024

I then added a Tresors

Ivory Vintage Handmade Cotton Crochet Doily DL-005

and tucked some stash flowers underneath along with a misted, Tresors

I then added a Tresors

Rustic Lilac Shabby Chic Flower Embellishment FL-100

along with another one of the fabric roses.

I did some stamping and added Crystals to the pattern for added depth and bling.
The Luscious Orchid Butterflies  are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

All around the torn edges, I cut and put pieces of Tresors
and then at the corner of my frame added another piece of the lace, cheesecloth, and then misted a Tresors
and added it with another one of the little fabric roses.

Here you can see all the dimension and texture that the Tresors items add to the layout!

Whether you love using your laces and flowers as is, or you love to mist and ink them up, Tresors De Luxe carries some of the most gorgeous high quality products that can with stand the color treatments and produce amazing, textural rich results that are so important to any artist~traditional or Mixed Media.

Thank you for stopping by, and here is to a spectacular finish to the week!! Hugs~Renea

A Little Style & Sophistication With The Scraps Of Darkness January Kit~

Do you love lots of glitz and glam?? Then you are going to totally fall in love with the January Scraps Of Darkness Kit Syle and Sophistication!!!
It combines the latest Graphic 45 and Authentique papers with some of the most enticing embellishments and pieces that you can get techie with to create a truly spectacular kit!

When I got my kit, I knew instantly that I wanted to do some fussy cutting on those G45 papers, so I decided on an altered Printer's Tray. I just love nooks and crannies and I got to work filling them with lots of little treasures~

I first stained my tray with multiple layers of mists, and stains, then added a distressed look, by painting random places with some Croco paint. I then added some texture painted places that I rubbed with paint and then did some script stamping on top of that. I added in lots of different paper pieces for the backgrounds, as well as doing some backgrounds with stamping. The Ingvild Bolme Ink in the kit was perfect for adding those stamped details.

I did quite a bit of fussy cutting from the papers, and added bling and Stickle accents to really glam the look up!

Some of the items that I used from the kit were:
Graphic 45 Papers
Graphic 45 Envelope Tags and pocket pieces
Black Lace
Kaisercraft Wooden Bottles
Rhinestone Trim
Ingvild Bolme Ink

Here you can see all the layers on the tray that I misted, stained, painted, croco painted, texture painted and stamped.

Here is a side view so that you can see the dimension of all the layering and textures.

I had so much fun creating this piece!! From creating with the kit pieces, to tucking in little treasures that I had hoarded up, the results were fun and FABulous!!

That is the thing about paper crafting it can take you to a whole other world and set your imagination free!! A feeling that I don't think I could ever get tired of. I hope you find a little time this week to set your imagination loose, and create something beautiful! Hugs ~Renea

SNOW~Scraps Of Darkness December Kit -Winter Wonderland

Happy Monday Everybody!! Today, I have a Vintage look layout that I created with the Scraps Of Darkness
December Kit~Winter Wonderland!
I used a free Vintage Image from http://magicmoonlightfreeimages.blogspot.com/ that I did some restoration work on, and then got busy with lots of layers.

I did lots of punching, and the corrugated piece behind the photo was first, dry brush painted with gesso and then deep edge painted with snow tex, and then frosted with German glitter glass for a sparkle you just can't see in photos.

There is a stash Prima resin piece at the top that I accented with puff paint, and the snowflakes are Leaky Shed Chipboard from the kit that I first inked then used the puff paint pen from the kit on and then layered with glitter and German Glitter Glass for a frosty Winter look.

The sentiment sticker at the bottom of the photo is from the Embellishment Add On and says "A snowflake is a kiss upon my cheek." I edged it with the puff paint pen then accented the little snowflakes on it with puff paint and tiny pearls. The Chasing Butterlies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy.

I created a banner using hand dyed seam binding, buttons from the kit tied with burlap strings, and stickers from the EAO accented with the puff paint pen.

I then added flowers from the kit and past kit accented with puff paint, attached seam binding bows and the sweet metal snowflakes from the EAO to form floral layers on both sides of the banner.

I then dripped and misted opposite end corners to add a little more depth to my layout since I used all those punched pattern papers.

Here you can see all the depth and frosty texture.

I hope you have a wonderful week, and now I am off to the grocery store since my teenage son ate me out of house and home this weekend! Hugs ~Renea
