Shake It Up!!

I participated in the Reneabouquets November Angel Tag Swap hosted by Reneabouquets Design Team Artist Donna Anderson in the Artists With An Edge Group and I wanted to create something special for my swap partner Marci Bensing. I love all the shaker pieces that I have seen other artists create, so I wanted to make my own Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard Shaker Box to go on the tag, so I sat down did all my preliminary drawings and then got to work on all the math and designing to bring the product to life. It is so exciting to have something inside your head and then bring it out in a creation that is all your own!!

I started with a base layer of  Blue Fern Studios Vintage Christmas Paper, then added a 2nd layer of paper that I stenciled using a Tim Holtz Doily Stencil and Ranger Texture Paste.  I then painted all the edges with Ranger Texture Paste and sprinkled the paste with Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass.

Next, I added a seam binding bow and topped it with a silver Jingle Bell that I dusted with Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass. I took a set of Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard Small Angel Wings and heat embossed them a silvery, icicle color added Pink Chunky Glitter Glass to the little heart connector in the set, added some feathers for softness, and

then punched a hole in the heart and added a tiny little jingle bell as a dangle .

I decorated the Premium Paper Cover by first painting it with Ranger Opaque Crackle Paste, letting that air dry and then inking with silver ink to bring out the cracks.   I then painted all the edges with Ranger Texture Paste and sprinkled the paste with Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass.

I just love how it turned out all frosty, beautiful and fun!!

I took 2  Beautiful Board Laser Cut Chipboard Small Butterfly Scroll Flourishes, that I gesso'ed,  sprinkled Diamond Chunky Glitter Glass, and added Silver Candy Beautiful Beads Flat back Pearls to and added those to the corners of the Shaker Box.

A layer of Timeless White Lace was added across the bottom, and then I created a floral cluster with flowers from the following sets:

I fussy cut out an angel photo to add to the shaker box. The image was one that I purchased from Etsy Shop: IrelandRoseStudios. I can digitally create my own images, but I love to support other artists and she does an amazing job with her images and the quality is excellent.

Here you can see the side view of the shaker box and all the dimension and detail that went into the tag.
Thank you so much for visiting me and taking a look at one of my projects!! I really love being a part of the paper crafting community and participating in swaps and challenges, and I hope you get a chance to participate in some of the fun events that are hosted out there in the community. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet new artists, create and support one another. Hugs ~Renea

Creating Beautiful Christmas Decorations is a Snap~

Time to get started on those handcrafted Christmas gifts and decorations!! I love creating items to decorate my home with for the Holidays! Today, I have a Carousel Themed Explosion Christmas Ornament that will be going on my tree this year using products that you can find at Reneabouquets.

Covering the 3 Solid Sides with Prima Santa Baby Paper, and then painting 2 of the small decorative pieces from the Decoration Kit and adding those to the bottom of the box. I can tell it is gloomy here, because my colors are a little off showing up more purplish than the Antique Mauve that they are.
All Chipboard pieces were adhered with Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue.

For the top and the  front of the box, I heat embossed then took some Lindy's Magicals (Sleigh Bells) and painted over the embossing to get a really gorgeous gold shimmer.

I then added 2 of the Larger Decorative pieces from the kit to each side of the lid and topped the front view with a Tiny Treasures Lissie Glitter Glass Butterfly. I then tied my box closed with a hand dyed seam binding ribbon topped with a Pink & Ivory Mini Rose.

For the inside of the box, I covered all 3 of the solid sides with matching paper, added a painted frame from the decoration kit to the back wall side, and then heat embossed and Magical Painted the bottom and inside front side.

I colored my Carousel Horse with Tim Holtz Distress Markers, added some of the Pink & Ivory Mini Roses to the base and topped them with a Lissie Butterfly Kiss.

I hope that you find the time during this busy Holiday Season to create something beautiful for yourself, family or friends!! Thank you for taking the time to visit!! Hugs ~Renea

Shabby Christmas Embellishment Box~

I love all the Embellishment Boxes I have seen artists creating this year and so I decided to create one that would make a Beautiful Christmas Gift with products that you can find at Reneabouquets!!
I started with a Paper Mache Nook Book Box and I coated the inside and outside with
Dina Wakley White Gesso and then got started decorating the outside of the box.

I started with a layer of  Blue Fern Vintage Christmas Paper Collection. I then added some Flower Crown Lace and draped it over the cover and down onto the spine.
Next came a Beautiful Board Shabby Christmas Tree Laser Cut Chipboard With Bead Holes that I did some two tone inking to with  im Holtz Bundled Sage Distress Ink, and Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. I glued Beautiful Beads Irridescent Pearls-Unicorn Cand into the Bead Holes on the tree and then created a snowy look on some of the branches using Ranger Texture Paste sprinkled with
The box ties closed with hand dyed seam binding that wraps around a metal bobbin that I topped with a Sweetheart Button.

At the base of the tree I added flowers from the following sets:
Pink & Ivory Mini Roses
frosting the large rose with the glitter glass and then adding a silver jingle bell and a little Christmas paper piece that I edged with  Ranger Texture Paste and

At the top corner of the book cover, I rolled down the paper added on a piece of  Princess Crown Lace, and some flowers from the sets that I used earlier.

On the spine where I draped the Flower Crown Lace I added some Beautiful Board Decorative Snowflakes, inking the 2nd layer of the stackable snowflakes and topped them with with Beautiful Bead Silver Candy for a gorgeous, dimensional look.

For the "pages" part of the box, I took 2-Beautiful Board Stackable Heart Border Laser Cut Chipboard, took the hearts that stack on top of the bottom layer of chipboard and coated them with
Pale Pink Chunky Glitter Glass. I absolutely love how this looks!! So much dimension and texture that really sets the box off!!

The BBoard is so durable, I actually just bent the board around the corners. The Board can take the bending, but on some of the intricate details the top layer did pop loose, but I just added glue and pushed those back down onto the bottom layers 😉

I completely decorated the inside of the box with images from the papers so that once all the embellishments have been used, you still have a usable keepsake.

I  covered the back side with matching papers for a designer look.

And then filled my box with matching embellishments:
Pink & Ivory Mini Roses
Creating a gift that would be treasured by any crafter!

Thank you for stopping by the blog and I hope that you get a chance to create some gifts for loved ones and friends that came from your own 2 hands!! Hugs ~Renea
