Two Different Looks From The Scraps Of Darkness February Kit~Touch Of Grey

Today is our official Design Team Reveal with Scraps Of Darkness February Kit~Touch Of Grey!
I have 2 different layouts to share with you using that kit that show 2 different directions that you can take the kit in. The first one up is Shabby Vintage layout that features a beautiful vintage image from Linda K's blogspot.

I used layers of the coordinating paper add on.

Then added a Dusty Attic Frame that I had been hoarding for a couple of years, and that I painted with gesso, then script stamped with embossing and ink and used the Lindy's Embossing Powder from the Color Add On to add color and visual interest.

I did some stenciling with texture paint.

I then layered in a distressed and inked Prima Paintable from the kit, , some more distressed and inked paper, a paper Doily that I then added the metal Prima Clock Face from the kit over and then added on a large flower from a previous kit.
Next, I layered in lots of flowers from the kit, and floral add on, and some foliage and Vintage button from my stash. At the bottom corner of the photo, I created a hand dyed seam binding bow and topped it with another stash Vintage button.

I added more flowers from the floral add on to the top, left hand corner.

And then went across the bottom of my framing with more stash, kit, and floral add on flowers. I fussy cut the framed quote "You are every lovely word I could ever think of" from some of the kit papers and tucked it into my flowers. The English Tea Rose Glitter Glass Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

This next layout shows a more masculine, grungy, playful side of the kit, and features a sweet photo of my son Draven when he was around 3 years old playing in the sand when our house was being built.

The layout consists of lots of torn and fussy cut papers from the kit and add ons that I misted and heavily inked.

I did some background stamping and added little details like wooden buttons, little staples and metal pieces f from some previous kits.

The corrugated piece features a peeled wallpaper effect that I came up with and have a tutorial for here on YouTube:
The metal clock piece is from the kit.

Here you can see the grunginess of all the peeling, painting and inking.

I mounted balsa wood inside a past kit Prima metal frame and then added on a bottle cap, Tim Holtz Charm and little wing nut head all from past kits.

The banner was created by layering in distress and inked kit paper, stained edge balsa wood and some of the Prima wood veneer letters from the kit, and then putting them together with hemp rope and hanging them with Tim Holtz Metal pins.

I hope you have enjoyed my work with the Scraps Of Darkness February Kit, and I hope you enjoy your weekend!! TGIF!!! Hugs~Renea
