Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Thankful

Today, Scraps Of Elegance is revealing it's November Kit~Thankful!
It is overflowing with the bountiful colors of Fall, and features so many wonderful elements for capturing those special moments with family and friends!!

The following is this month's sketch by SuePup:

And the following is my take on it that features a sweet photo taken by my sister Tammy of the newest addition to our family, Crimson Haven Powers. She was born to my God Child, Michelle and her husband Richard on September 11, 2013. Isn't she just beautiful??!!
The photo is a symbolic representation of my Granny and Pawpaw. The guitar was my Pawpaws who loved music and spent many hours playing his guitar and singing. The butterfly represents my Granny. She loved butterflies and wore a pin almost everyday that looked like the one Crimson is wearing :) For those of you who didn't know,  that is where my love of creating butterflies comes from.

I did lots of paper layering, distressing the edges and sewing each layer for definition.

The scalloped side piece was fussy cut from the paper, then folded for dimension.

I inked two doilies then fussy cut out some of the circular patterns and layered them on top.
There are more distress edged, and sewn layers under the photo as well as another fussy cut scallop piece that is topped with one of the sweet daisies from the Floral Add On that I puff painted the edges on. I created the dimensional photo corner, by cutting a piece of the matching paper, sewing it, and adding one of the resin pieces from the kit to.

I punched a layer of paper and ran it under the photo and then topped it with some of that, oh so sweet checkered, heart trim. The foliage layer is a mix of  flowers from the kit, Floral Add on and stash on top of die cut leaves. The Beautiful Days Butterflies were ones that I created just for this kit, and hopefully I will get them into my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop soon.

The design at the bottom was created with the Prima Stencil from the kit and gel medium. The resin piece was from the kit and I cut the "Family" from some of the papers. The flowers seen here are from the kit and Floral Add On.

I rolled down one of the corners and tucked in some flowers from the FAO and a resin piece from the kit.

And here you can see all the dimension that all the layering created.

I may be a little biased, but I think that Melinda puts together the most beautiful kits around. Once again she has given us a kit that reflects not only timeless elegance, but the changing of Seasons as well.
As we head into all the Holidays that have us surrounded with family and friends, I hope you find the time to capture some of those cherished moments for yourself! Hugs, ~Renea
