Hello everybody! Today I have the honor of being a Guest Designer for Something Tattered Stamps owned by Beth Neumann. When the Design Team Leader, Tracey Gregory asked me to GDT I was very excited. I love working with stamps and had seen the Something Tattered Stamp line in the Etsy Shop, and loved them! I love working with stamps. They are one of those mediums that are so versatile and they take on the personality of the user, allowing you to express yourself in your own style. They can be used in so many different ways and can add so much visual interest to your projects.
Today, I will take you through a layout that I created using the stamps, and show you a few different ways that you can use the Something Tattered Stamps to create an unforgettable look that is all you.
I used the stamps that were sent to me, along with the Scraps Of Elegance December Kit to create a Christmas layout. I punched, sewed and layered in 3 different base layers. I then added some crochet trim, a paper Doily, some corrugated board that I painted with gesso, frosted up with snow tex and glitter glass for some shine.
To get the look surrounding the Vintage image that I digitally colorized ,
I first took a layer of paper, distressed and inked the edges then stamped the chain link print using the
L Initial Monogram Stamp Set
I then used the
stamped the Laurel pattern onto textured card stock and then fussy cut it out, I then centered one of the ornate stamps from the
L Initial Monogram Stamp Set to my resin piece, stamped it then attached my resin piece to it.
To get the look I created on the left side of the layout,
I first hand dyed some seam binding, then stamped it with one of the tiny stamps from the
I then hand drew a little mitten set for templates and created some little hand crafted mittens on textured card stock, adding some fuzzy trim and then stamping the gorgeous pattern using a section of the small "D" Stamp from the
I then colored in the leaf pattern and added a little wooden snowflake with a crystal accent, and created a banner by "hanging" them from the seam binding.
The December sentiment was stamped onto a Spellbinders Die Cut that I misted while it was still in the die for the 2 tone coloring and then stamped using the
I create hand crafted butterflies for my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop, and wanted to create some really unique ones using the Something Tattered Stamps for this layout, so I took some bodies that I digitally created, and stamped them with the large "D" Stamp from the
and colored in the foliage, then glitter painted accents in my own "edgy" style, and created wire antennas.
Here you can see all the dimension and detail that the stamping and layering creates.
I hope that you have enjoyed some of my stamping techniques. I loved working with these high quality, wonderfully designed stamps. The designs came out so crisp and gorgeous time after time, and a plus was that they are clear stamps which I prefer to work with, because you can see where you are stamping when working on items that you are using sections on. The images came out FABulously whether I was stamping on the seam binding, the textured paper, or a smooth surface, and I fell in love with intricate, yummy designs.
