Today, I would like to share with you a Mini Album that I created using that so very gorgeous Scraps Of Darkness February Kit-Simple Pleasures. It is loaded with some of the brand new Prima Engraver papers and elements, and I am just in love with it. On the front cover, and on the next to the last page of the album, I have used a Peeled Wallpaper Effect that I cam up with, and if you want to check out the YouTubeVideo Tutorial for that please visit the Scraps Of Darkness Website.
I not only used the Peeled Wallpaper Effect on this album, but used tons of others as well.
I heat embossed the "Memories" chipboard piece, and then randomly painted it in spots with Tattered Angels Glitter Glam. The metal key is from the kit, and the pearl beaded chain is a Prima Tassel from a past kit. The Antique Linen Butterfly is from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.
I repeated that same process for the clock hands, and the weathered clock in the background was inked, crackle stamped, and then coated in UTEE (Ultra thick Embossing Powder).
Here you can see all the "chunky" dimension of my album. I used the Prima Engraver Mini Frames to create a pull through on both sides of the mini, then took a piece of ribbon and attached velcro to form a closure.
This little canvas tag was from the kit, and I took one of the wooden bees from the Flora & Fauna add on, inked it then rub oned the "live" rub on from the Romance Add On, and added a "loud" sticker from the kit. The flower is also from the Flora & Fauna.
Here I fussy cut one of the Engraver pps, added a photo, and then added the little sticker banners from the kit, a leftover canvas piece, some stash keys, and some burlap string. The "Live with intention" sentiment is one of the rub ons from the kit. This pieces is actually a hand sewn Pocket Page, and
Her is the pull out.
This is the back side of the pocket page. I added a real working pocket for storing treasures, from my stash, then took one of the rub ons from the kit and rubbed it directly onto the cloth pocket. The flower is a hand crafted Terra Cotta Texture Rose from my Reneabouquets Etsy shop.
Here I fussy cut out one of the time pieces from the Prima Engrave Paper, then added layers of journal paper, and attached them together with an eyelet to form a piece that you can journal on, record memories, or put small photos onto.
This is that piece open.
This is a canvas page. I first misted it with the Art Anthology Timeless mist from the Color Add On, and then masked it using the Juicy mist. I then edged it in the fabric tape from the kit. I had never used the fabric tape before and really loved the ease of edging the canvas with it.
This is the backside. The pointing hand was fussy cut from the Shades of Gray sheet from the kit, then colored, and the "create memories" sentiment is from the kit sticker sheet.
Here I created another one of those time piece spots, and hung it with a chain piece from a past kit.
Here it is opened up.
Next I took kit papers, and burlap sheets, sewed them together, and created a 12 spot booklet for photos or journaling. The following photos just show each page.
This next to the last page, features some more of that Peeled Wallpaper Effect. The Prima bling is from the kit and the sentiment "Love isn't blind, it just only sees what matters" is a sticker from the kit.
And here is the back.
