Scraps Of Elegance reveals it's October Kit-Dreams of You, and all the gorgeous papers and embellishment will have you dreaming of romantic, frilly, layerlicious layouts!!!
With each kit, you get an amazing sketch done by the lovely Sue Pup, that will get your mojo flowing!
The following layout is my take on this month's sketch. It featured a beautiful wedding photo of my husband Johnny's step daughter, Jen on her wedding day.
To replicate the circle shape in the sketch, I misted and layered on a Doillie, then punched a layer of the kit paper. I then misted 2 cloth Doillies that I found buried in my stash, and layered them under the photo.
I fussy cut out the hot air balloon, and flowers, from some of the Prima papers and layered it onto the papers with foarm tape for dimenstion. I then gussied the hot air balloon up with some stash roses, die cuts and trims, along with one of the little My Mind's Eye brads from the Embellishment Add On.
I created the flower layers using some flourishes that I cut out from card stock with my die cut machine, and then layered on flowers from the Flora & Fauna Add On, and from my stash.
This next layout, is loaded with layers and textures, and features a photo of one of my son's friends, Lauren when she got married this year. I love the sweet perspective of the photo and the colors were perfect for her wedding colors.
I created lots of distressed layers with the papers from the kit, card stock, cheese cloth, fibers, feathers, trim from my stash and from the kit, and I fussy cut the mat of the photo out from the transparency that was in the Embellishment Add On.
The green ribbon trim is from the kit and the little buttons are from the Embellishment add on. I fussy cut hydrangea pieces from the papers and then layered flowers from the Flora & Fauna add on, as well as some of my Seaside Blue Glitter Glass Flowers from my Etsy Shop-My Glitter Coated Life.
The Sugar & Spice Butterflies are also from my Etsy shop, and the little word stickers in the peek a boos are from the kit.
This next project is a 8 x 10 canvas that I crated using layers modeling paste, stamping, laces, mists, glitters, glitter glass, and seed beads. I love to take Scrapping off the page and canvas gives you so much texture to work with.
I layered a piece of the kit paper that I distressed and inked on to the mixed media canvas that I created, then took a Vintage image, inked the edges and layered it on. I took 2 Dusty Attic Flourishes and inked them with Mix'd Media Ink, then stamped with a Script stamp onto them, and added some of the My Mind's Eye brads from the Embellisment Add On onto them for detail.
Here you can see the modeling paste, lace layers, stamping, seed beads, and glitter detail of the canvas. I took some more Vintage lace and then some little sentiment stickers that I laid onto the journaling cards that were in the E.A.O. and distressed and glittered them up.
The right hand corner layer was created using the small frame from the E.A.O. a fussy cut and inked hot air balloon from the journaling cards in the E.A.O. and some flowers from my stash as well as 2 small Dusty Attic Flourishes that I inked and stamped. The Paper Wishes Butterflies are from my Etsy Shop-My Glitter Coated Life.
The bottom flower layer was created using the Webster's flower from the kit and some more stash flowers.
Here you can see some more of the details on my canvas.
Oh this kit has me dreaming of so many more layouts, unfortunately reality is pulling me back out off those dreams, but a girl can always dream in her head as the mundane goes by-lol!! I hope you enjoyed your visit! ~Renea
