Song Bird Card

I don't know about you, but I love to wake up to the sound of birds singing. I created the following card with a sweet little Vintage bird image and gorgeous Donna Salazar paper from my June Scraps Of Elegance Kit, and surrounded it with all kinds of stamped images and goodies from The Rubber Cafe. The design is one that I lifted from my friend Shelly Anne, and I wanted to make sure she got credit for her creativity!!

I started with some Donna Salazar Botanique Paper from the SOE Kit, distressed the edges and then used the double side to create the top layer, distressing the edges for that girlie grunge look I love.

Using The Rubber Cafe's Blossom Branch Stamp,  I stamped the image, then colored in the blossoms with  some Tim Holtz Distress Markers and then added accents with a Viva Pearl pen.

I layed down a layer of cheesecloth from the SOE Kit and then stamped a Vintage Ephemera layer using one of the stamps from The Rubber Cafe's Vintage Treasures Stamp Set. I then fussy cut the image out, distressed the edges and then took a little Vintage bird image from the SOE embellishment add on, distressed the edges and layered it on top of the stamped image with some One and Only Tape and foam to create dimension.  I added some of The Rubber Cafe's Pearl Jellie Dots for accent. I created a bow with some iridescent ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and a Prima flower from the SOE Floral Add On, and attached them below the image.

I stamped a butterfly image onto some kit paper using The Rubber Cafe butterfly stamp from the Vintage Treasures Stamp Set, fussy cut it out and attached it with  One and Only Tape and foam to create dimension

For the back side of the card, I cut out some of the same Botanique paper from the SOE kit into a v-shaped pocket, set eyelets and laced it with some more of the RR ribbon.

I created a pull out tag by cutting the backside of the paper into a diamond shape, distressing the edges and doing some heavy inking and distress work. I used a Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 die to create the plate for my tag.

I then stamped the sentiment "Thank You" using The Rubber Cafe's Thank You 3 Stamp. To finish the tag up, I set an eyelet and added a little hanger using the matching ribbon.

I love this style of card with plenty of room to add so many details. Thank you Shelly Anne for your inspiration! I hope you all have a great week! ~Renea
