Scraps Of Elegance Design Team Reveal~November Kit~Thankful

Today is the official Design Team Reveal with the Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Thankful!
This kit is so perfect for putting together Fall Layouts and projects and today I would like to share a few that I have created using it!

My first project is a layout that features one of our family friend's daughter Maddie. I just love how she was captured laughing out loud. Maddie has one of those personalities that is so sweet and so contagious and I hope this layout captures some of her vibrancy.

I layered in two different paper layers, tearing and inking one side of the top layer, then punching and layering in some of the Crochet Lace from the embellishment add on.

I then layered on some fringed burlap and a corrugate board piece that I misted then painted with Jacquard paint and accented with seed beads. I then did some background stamping, and created a tear that I then laced up with burlap string, and then created a burlap string bow and topped it with the sweet little Webster's Pages Owl that was in the Embellishment Add On.

I took the Dazzles Stickers from the kit, layered them onto vellum then cut them out for some yummy and unique foliage. The Beautiful Days Butterflies were created just for this kit and can be found in my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I then layered on flowers from past kits and the Floral Add On, then tucked a stash Prima window under the corrugated board layer and topped it with the little leaf in the EAO.

I cut out some of the quotes from the kit paper and added them around the photo and then created another floral piece with the Dazzles, kit flowers and leaves and flowers from the FAO.

Here you can see all the dimension that the layering and techniques add.

This next project is one of those little Tea Cup Fairies that I love to do, and features a Vintage image that I digitally color altered then gave sweet "fairy wings".

If you would like to create one of the tea cups for yourself, here is the blog where I got the template

I created the teacup and saucer from some of the paper in the Paper Add On, inked and layered a doily placed it on the saucer and added the cup on. I used the

I used some of that wonderful Ghingham heart trim around the cup edge, then texture painted one of the daisies from the Floral Add On and added it to the front of the cup.

The bird's nest is a real one. I love to hike and in the Winter after nests are empty, I collect them for my art and to decorate for Christmas with. I layered in burlap and then added my little fairy, a charm from the kit, flowers leaves and some hand crafted, hand painted paper clay eggs.

Here is the detail on the cup.

The tea bag is one that I recycle from my morning cups of tea, then stamped and colored the sunflower onto. I added on some more of that gingham heart trim, a little stash sunflower, and a leaf brad from the EAO.

I love creating miniatures, they remind me of working with my Pawpaw and bring me great pleasure to create! A little magic mixed with sweetness~

The next project I have today, is a set of Autumn themed cards:

They have lots of layers of paper, burlap and trim, and I also created some foliage pieces by hand stamping and fussy cutting out the images.

The first one features Kit butterflies, trim and flowers, along with a resin piece, a Webster's Pages Wooden piece,  and  leaf brad  from the EAO. The large flower and Prima leaves are from the Floral Add On.

I finished out the backside for a designer look.

The second card is just a repeat of the same products with a little change up in design and paper choices.

And here is the finished back side.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy days to stop in!! I know how crazy this time of the year can get so I am truly Thankful!  I hope that you have enjoyed my different projects with this month's kit and I hope that you take the time to be Thankful this season, count your blessings and enjoy getting to create a few treasured pieces for yourself. Hugs ~Renea

Inkido DT Call 2014

Hello, my name is Renea Harrison, and I am very excited to have this opportunity to submit to Inkido for a chance to be on the 2014 Design Team!

I am a 47 year old Mom, Wife, Bookkeeper, Avid Scrapper and Etsy Owner. I don't just love scrapbooking, I am passionate about it. I love every aspect of this amazing multi-media art.
As a scrapper, I don't really have any one set style. I tend to scrap whatever mood I happen to be in which can range from, Girly Girl, Vintage, and Girlie Grunge to Masculine, Grunge, and Mixed Media. I love inks, paints, and stains, and I lovingly call myself a "Magpie". I love to collect things, and then use them in my work. My greatest joy in this craft,  is knowing that I have inspired others to create~

Here are a few of my favorite projects that I think reflect my style and some of the types of projects that I love to do:

Beautiful Days~Tresors De Luxe Etsy

Today, is my first Design Team reveal of the month for Tresors De Luxe Etsy Shop!!!
Lucy has been adding lots of new, super gorgeous products to her shop, and this layout shows off a few of them. I teamed those Tresors products up with some past Scraps Of Elegance Kit pieces to create a Shabby~Vintage layout.

The photo is from Digital Artist Janet K.

I layered in two different pieces of paper, sewing the 2nd piece.

I then sewed a matte layer and added on my photo.

behind the photo.

Fussy cut one of the frames out of another piece of paper and topped it with an oh so elegant Tresors

OK, so here is where I admit I made a boo boo and had to cover it up-lol! I did some masking with some gold paint, and originally had just one piece of lace with the design below it, but I did not like the way it looked, so I just layered a couple of more layers of lace over it and loved how it turned out.
Here are the laces that I used:

Lace Trim Beaded LA-005
Lace Trim Applique in Ivory LA-106

I created a yummy floral piece out of  the following Tresors pieces:

Ivory Velvet And Organza Flower FL-047

Light Pink Velvet and Rhinestone Flowers FL-052

Dusty Roses Fabric Shabby Chic Roses PF-018

Added on the sentiment "Beautiful" and went up the side of the page with a set of my Champagne Dreams Butterflies from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I then took a Chipboard corner and coated it with a thick coat of Jacquard Paint and then heated it up to add dimension to the paint. and topped it with some flowers including another one of those Shabby Fabric Flowers from Tresors.

Tresors De Luxe is the answer to all this Shabby~Vintage Girls Dreams!! The products are so gorgeous, are so elegant and the quality is amazing. I feel so fortunate to get to work with these products!! If you would like to add that Tresors Touch to your projects, you can find them at:

Don't forget when making a purchase to mention to Lucy that I sent you and you will receive a sweet little extra for yourself ;)
Hope you have a great week! Hugs ~Renea

Scraps Of Elegance November Kit~Thankful

Today, Scraps Of Elegance is revealing it's November Kit~Thankful!
It is overflowing with the bountiful colors of Fall, and features so many wonderful elements for capturing those special moments with family and friends!!

The following is this month's sketch by SuePup:

And the following is my take on it that features a sweet photo taken by my sister Tammy of the newest addition to our family, Crimson Haven Powers. She was born to my God Child, Michelle and her husband Richard on September 11, 2013. Isn't she just beautiful??!!
The photo is a symbolic representation of my Granny and Pawpaw. The guitar was my Pawpaws who loved music and spent many hours playing his guitar and singing. The butterfly represents my Granny. She loved butterflies and wore a pin almost everyday that looked like the one Crimson is wearing :) For those of you who didn't know,  that is where my love of creating butterflies comes from.

I did lots of paper layering, distressing the edges and sewing each layer for definition.

The scalloped side piece was fussy cut from the paper, then folded for dimension.

I inked two doilies then fussy cut out some of the circular patterns and layered them on top.
There are more distress edged, and sewn layers under the photo as well as another fussy cut scallop piece that is topped with one of the sweet daisies from the Floral Add On that I puff painted the edges on. I created the dimensional photo corner, by cutting a piece of the matching paper, sewing it, and adding one of the resin pieces from the kit to.

I punched a layer of paper and ran it under the photo and then topped it with some of that, oh so sweet checkered, heart trim. The foliage layer is a mix of  flowers from the kit, Floral Add on and stash on top of die cut leaves. The Beautiful Days Butterflies were ones that I created just for this kit, and hopefully I will get them into my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop soon.

The design at the bottom was created with the Prima Stencil from the kit and gel medium. The resin piece was from the kit and I cut the "Family" from some of the papers. The flowers seen here are from the kit and Floral Add On.

I rolled down one of the corners and tucked in some flowers from the FAO and a resin piece from the kit.

And here you can see all the dimension that all the layering created.

I may be a little biased, but I think that Melinda puts together the most beautiful kits around. Once again she has given us a kit that reflects not only timeless elegance, but the changing of Seasons as well.
As we head into all the Holidays that have us surrounded with family and friends, I hope you find the time to capture some of those cherished moments for yourself! Hugs, ~Renea

BeWitching~Scraps Of Darkness October Kit~Gothic

Hello, and welcome to the official Scraps Of Darkness Design Team Reveal for the October Kit~Gothic!!

If you love all things Halloween, then this kit is definitely one for you!!!

Here is a sweetly, spooky little Vintage layout that I created using this month's kit and some of those Bat~tastic Add Ons! The Vintage image is one that I found on Pinterest, then I color altered and did some major cleaning up on.

I layered in the first two piece of kit papers. The second layer is one that I distressed
and glittered the edges with the Distress Glitter that was in the kit. I then layered in another layer of paper and a layer of the glittered up bat paper that was in the kit. I then distressed the edges of my photo and two tone inked them. I then randomly stamped with a crackle stamp from a past kit to add lots of depth.

I ran the yummy trim from the Embellishment Add On across the bottom of the layout, added on some past kit flowers, and some flowers from the Floral Add On, as well as some of the flourishes from the kit. The Bewitching Halloween Banner is a die cut piece from the kit applied with foam tape for dimension.
The Witch's Brew Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop, and feature a hand painted spider web design on the lower wings.

I took cheesecloth and pulled lots of strands out of it to replicate a spider web then misted some Scrapmatts Chipboard spiders from my DT stash, and popped them in. The Candelabra is a wooden piece from the E.A.O. that I first misted, then painted with Micas, melted fusable webbing onto and then inked it for dimension and texture~a technique I picked up from Joyce Lawrence (Joycekers) a few months back on a project I had seen her do~thank you Joyce for your inspiration!

Here is a close up of my floral work.

And here are some close ups of the chipboard and cheesecloth textures.

This next project is a File Folder Tag Album. The base is actually cut down manilla file folders that I sewed together to form multiple pockets for tucking over sized tags into. This system works to create a unique "mini album" system, with 7 different double sided tags perfect for adding photos to and spots for journaling. You can also tuck more photos or memorabilia into the pockets themselves. I give full credit of the base design to Cherry's Jubilee. She does gorgeous work and I encourage to give her blog a visit, you will not be disappointed!

For the front of the folder a layer of paper from the Paper Add On that I distressed and inked. I then cut out one of the labels from a piece of the Authentique papers, distressed and heavily inked the outer surface. I then took a little Vintage Image that I had gotten from Magic Moonlight Studio that I digitally altered then glitter painted and added her on.

The gorgeous, black lace trim was from the Embellishment add on, the seam binding is some that I hand dyed to match my layout and then added on a stash rhinestone button, and a feather. I then tucked in the little "Hocus, Pocus" die from the kit that I added crystals to and tucked in the oh so FAB, handcrafted stick pin that was created by Mandy Harrell just for this kit and comes in the EAO.

I cut out another label tag from the Authentique paper added on another seam binding bow that I topped with a flower from the kit, and clipped it to the front with a stash 7 Gypsies clip accented with a clear crystal. The Little Pumpkin Glitter Glass Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I created 6 more tags by punching, distressing, and sewing papers and adding on various cut outs from the paper, seam binding bows, and scrap trim pulls.

Here is the system with all the tags pulled out. Each tag is double sided.

And here is a view of the back.

It is always such a Treat to see what Melinda is going to put together for Halloween!!! I just love all the spooky meets gorgeous elements that she gives us and it makes for such a fun time over in the forums, blog and Facebook Page.  On our Facebook page, there has been lots of fun games and chances at giveaways, so be sure to head over there and check it out!!!

I hope you and your's have a fun and FABulous Halloween! Now, it is time for me to jump on my broom and fly on out of here!! Sweet,  sticky, candy covered  hugs~Renea
