Merry Christmas Pocket Journal~A Reneabouquets Project

Today, I have a sweet Christmas Pocket Journal to share with you that I created to go into my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop that features items that you can find in my Reneabouquets.com and Reneabouquets Etsy.
It features a pocket that has lots of tags and journaling cards tucked in that one can use to journal or place small photos on.

I created the 9 inch x 6 inch pocket and all the paper pieces from the Blue Fern Studios Vintage Christmas Paper Collection. The pocket was created from the Deck The Halls Paper, and the tuck ins and Vintage Image piece on the pocket front are from the Holiday Cards Paper.
I added some lace at the top and then used some Rose Crown Lace on the bottom
I added some Mulberry Flowers and Leaves from my Peppermint Red & White Roses & Leaves Set, along with some other blooms, a sweet resin frame and a fussy cut stocking and Merry Christmas piece that I added some jingle bells to.

There are 2-Large Double Sided Tags with Seam Binding Bows and mini peppermint rose accents.
2-Smaller, Double Sided Journaling Cards
and 1- small piece that opens up booklet style

I just love creating these type of pieces! Anything with sweet place to tuck in memories is right up my alley! Thank you for stopping by for a quick peek at my project, and here is to lots of fun Holiday crafting!! Hugs, ~Renea

December~A Vintage Christmas Layout With Blue Fern Studios

For my second Blue Fern Studios December Project, I have a Vintage Christmas Layout that I created with the Vintage Christmas Paper Collection:

I took a layer of  Wonderland Paper, and I created an angled cut and then did some lacing,

with seam binding and created a large bow that I topped with a mulberry paper flower.

I then did some stenciling with texture paste to create a frosty, textural Winter look.

I then ran some lace up the side, took a Blue Fern Ruth's Doily Chipboard Piece and stipple painted it with some gesso, and added my Vintage photo which is one that I recolored and added some angel wings to.

I created a flower layer using a mulberry paper flower that I sprayed with fake snow, a Blue Fern Christmas Bloom and a Soft Blossom. I took a little bottle brush wreath, added a bow and some beads and added that to the floral layer. The handcrafted butterflies are some of my Sweet Pea Glitter Glass Butterflies.

I used a 2nd sheet of the Wonderland Paper, and cut out the tree and the top rose piece and added those onto my layout with foam tape to make the design pop. I then painted the tree with sand texture paste, added some glitter glass and beads to "decorate" it. I added more flowers to the top cut out piece as well.

Here I have a side view that shows all the texture and dimension of all the technique and layering work.

I just love a Vintage Christmas look and Blue Fern Products make it easy to capture that look and add in all the perfect details!! I hope you are getting to enjoy some Holiday Crafting, staying inside and warm!! Hugs ~Renea

Joyful Christmas Book Box & Tag Album~Blue Fern Studios

For my third and final Blue Fern Studios Design Team project, I have a Christmas themed Book Box with Tag Album Set to share with you. I created this piece using the Blue Fern Studios Vintage Christmas Paper Collection.

The book box was already a beautiful Ivory color and so I just started layering on goodies to quickly produce a wonderful Vintage Christmas look.
I used a layer of  Jolly Paper that I distressed the edges on, and then took a layer of  Let It Snow Paper, distressed the edges on it and popped it on for a double layer look.

I added wide gold lace to the "binding" side of the book box and wrapped it around to the front over the edges of the paper layers.

I then took a Blue Fern Studios Dangled Flake Chipboard Piece, painted it with gesso, and then randomly dabbed it with embossing ink, and heat embossed it with Imagine Ink 14 Karat Embossing Powder. I cut out the candy cane piece from the Holiday Cards Paper, and mounted it in the frame, topped it with a hand dyed seam binding bow, and white mini rose, and then added one of my handcrafted Victorian Christmas Die Cuts.

Here you can see all the texture that the embossing powder adds to the frame.

At the corner of the frame, I added a mulberry paper flower, leaves and a Blue Fern Soft Blossom Flower.  I cut the "A Joyful Christmas" piece from the Holiday Cards Paper, edged it with puff paint and added some tiny jingle bells.

I added some elegant lace to the sides of the book box and created a closure tie with some more gold and white lace.

On the inside of the box, I used some Let It Snow Paper to cover the left hand side, and added more of the elegant lace. The tag album had 3 double sided tags and I got to work decorating them.

The front tag features Twas The Night Paper topped with a Holiday Cards Paper Piece, some lace, some Blue Fern Soft Blossoms, mini mulberry paper rose.

The back side is covered with the Twas The Night Paper.

The Second Tag features Holiday Treats Paper, topped with a Holiday Cards Paper piece, and some Delicate Lace.

The back side features more Holiday Treats Paper, topped with a Holiday Cards Paper piece, and some Delicate Lace.

The third tag features Twas The Night Paper, topped with Timeless Lace and a Holiday Cards Paper Piece.

And the back side features Twas The Night Paper.

I covered the back side of the book box with Jolly Paper for a finished designer look.

I hope that you have enjoyed my work for Blue Fern Studios as much as I have enjoyed working with their gorgeous products!! Hugs ~Renea

Winter Bliss~Capturing The Winter Holidays With Blue Fern Studios

It is hard to believe that another year has almost come and gone! I can not believe it is now time for the end of the year Holidays and that my 2016 term with Blue Fern Studios will end with these last three, December projects. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to create for the Team , and I just want to say thank you to everyone at Blue Fern Studios for such a wonderful year of crafting!! It has truly been a pleasure!
For this first layout, I decided to capture a YUMMY, frosty, Winter look:

I used the new Blue Fern Studios Vintage Christmas 2 Paper Collection for this project, and started with a layer of Jolly Paper,  I then punched a layer of Let It Snow paper with a snowflake punch and distressed, texture painted and glittered the edges. I added a Victorian Angel Die Cut to the bottom corner.

Next, I added a layer of lace,

took a  Snowflake Frame, painted it with white crackle texture paint, and then added silver seed beads to it.

I then took an Organic Vine Corner, gave it the same treatment and then started adding in my details.

I used Blue Fern Christmas Blooms, Soft Blossoms, silver leaves, and some mulberry paper flowers that I texture painted to on the frame and vine corner. I also added some real jingle bells, and 2 of my handcrafted Tiny Treasures Glistening Silver Butterflies.

To add the final, frosty touch to my layout I took some Shabby Flakes Chipboard, embossed them with Imagine Ink Icicle Embossing Powder, then puff painted the edges and added some sweet rhinestone and pearl buttons to the centers to create that Winter Shine.

I just love the frosty look of Winter and all the quality Blue Fern products allowed me to capture that look perfectly!! I hope you are getting to enjoy some Winter and Holiday crafting of your own! Hugs, Renea

Blue Fern Memoires Makes Creating A Pocket Journal A Snap~

For my 3rd Blue Fern Studios November project, I have a Vintage~Romantic style Pocket Journal to share with you. I used the new Memoires Paper Collection for this project and I just love how those gorgeous papers with the Calling Card Pieces make putting together a piece like this a snap!!

I started with a Sewn Pocket Folder Base, and then layered on Memoires Chronicle Paper on the front and back. Cut out some sentiments from the Calling Cards Paper and clipped them to the top.

I then took a Blue Fern Studios Looped Frame Chipboard (I used the medium from the Set), and heat embossed it with Imagine Ink Garnet Embossing Powder, randomly dabbed it with a clear embossing ink dabber and heat embossed those areas with Imagine Ink Pearl Embossing Powder.
I then cut out some Memoires Grand Sequel Paper and backed the frame with that, adding inked corrugated board and topping that with my Vintage Image.

I added scalloped lace to the bottom, fussy cut out the typewriter and bird image from the papers and added that with foam tape for a dimensional effect. I then topped the image with some flowers along with a Attic Charm Daisy.

I fussy cut the little bird in the pocket watch from the Memoires Calling Cards Paper, punched a hole and added a metal chain with link and topped the piece with some more mini roses. I atatched the piece with Velcro so that it can be removed and one can journal or add a small photo to the back.

Here you can see all the tuck ins that I created with the Memoires  Papers and Calling Cards, that can be used for journaling and small photos as well. The pieces include:
2-Large tags topped with lace, hand dyed seam binding bows and timeless buttons
2-Medium Pull Outs topped with hand dyed seam binding bows and mini roses
3-Smaller pull outs
2-small "tickets"

And here is the back side.

Remember When~Going Masculine With Blue Fern Studios Memoires Collection

Today, I have my second, November, Blue Fern Studios Project, and it is a layout showing how you can use the Memories Paper Collection, along with Blue Fern Chipboard, and Imagine Ink Embossing Powders to create a Masculine layout.
The photo is one of my husband and his Dad when they were younger, and is one of those rare photos since they both do not like to be photographed, so I cherish it and keep the original on my mantel at home.

The bottom layer is a piece of  Memoires-Tales Of Treasures Paper that I spray stained the edges on. I added a torn, corrugated board strip down the middle that I spray stained, and inked,

and then I stamped around the board piece with a Blue Fern Studios Coarse Fabrics Stamp, and then heat embossed with Imagine Ink Ebony Embossing Powder for a nice, grungy effect.

I used a set of Blue Fern Studios Splattered Circles Chipboard, layering them together to form a perfect showpiece for my photo. I clipped the photo on with a metal clip and then topped it with a metal dream key.

The detail on the circles was create using layers of Imagine Ink Embossing Powders that include: Ebony, Peacock, and Nutmeg. I also added some black microbeads, creating a gorgeous texture!

I then cut apart some Blue Fern Studios Chained Bits Chipboard, heat embossed the pieces with Imagine Ink Ebony Embossing Powder, and added them randomly to my layout. I added on 2 metal clips to the top and bottom corner pieces, then cut out some sentiment pieces from the bottom strips that you cut of the papers ( they are the titles of the papers) distress and inked those and then clipped them into the clips.

With Masculine layouts, I don't like to use flowers or a lot of  "fru-fru" so here you can see how using those Blue Fern Products can really help you to create a gorgeous piece with a lot of detail and texture without a lot of the stuff that you would use on a feminine piece.

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope that I have inspired you to think outside of the box and to create something a bit more masculine and grungy! Hugs ~Renea

True Story~Creating Fall Memories With The Blue Fern Memoires Collection

Hello everyone, and welcome to my November Blue Fern Studios Design Team Reveal!
I am kicking off November with 3 projects that I created using the new Blue Fern Studios Paper Collection-Memoires.
This first layout is an example that I created for the Blue Fern November All About Titles Challenge, and for this project, I went with a Fall theme. I used a wedding photo that I added my husband and my initials to for a fun turn on my romantic style. My husband and I have been together for 30 years and I am still crazy in love with him!!

I took a piece of the Memoires Songbird's Drama Paper, and used it for the bottom layer, I then took a second layer of the same paper and fussy cut out the column piece along the side and the bird and flower piece at the bottom and added them on with foam tape to add a 3D effect to my layout.

I then added burlap for a Rustic Chic look and

took a piece of  the Memoires Paper from the collection, tore out a section, crackle painted it then inked over the crackle for YUMMY finish. I added that then placed my photo on top. I then added areas around the photo with the crackle paint and inking to add depth and pull in the fall colors of the photo.

I wanted to show a close up of the Crackle Detail, so that you can see how much depth and detail it adds.

I tucked a Blue Fern Scalloped Boarder Chipboard Piece  that I heat embossed with Imagine Ink Honey Embossing Powder, then randomly dabbed the piece with a clear ink dabber and heat embossed those areas with Imagine Ink Nutmeg Embossing Powder.
Next I added a Blue Fern Studios Wild Flourish Bundle Chipboard Piece that I heat embossed with 3 different colors of Imagine Ink Embossing Powder; Sage, Clover, and
Oatmeal. Adding on various Mulberry Paper Flowers and tucking in a burlap string bow.

Here you can see the detail that 3 different colors of embossing powder gave the piece.

I added flowers to the 3D column piece,

and flowers to the bottom 3D cutout.
The handcrafted butterflies are my Fall Leaf Butterflies and they added a perfect touch to the Fall theme of my layout.

I added more flowers and another burlap string bow to the photo corner.

And for my "Title" to complete the Blue Fern Challenge,  I used the Blue Fern True Story Chipboard Piece from the True Story, Big Drama Set. I first inked the piece and then took a marker and highlighted the letters to make them stand out.

I hope that you have enjoyed my Fall take using the Memoires Paper Collection, and that you get a chance to join in on the November Challenge and get in on the Oh So FABulous Prize Pack!! Good Luck!! Hugs ~Renea
