Creating Summer Memories With The Scraps Of Darkness March Kit-Radioactive

I have been having a lot of fun playing with the Scraps Of Darkness March Kit~Radioactive this month, and when I saw the top paper in the kit, I knew I had to scrap a beach photo and I used this one of me and Draven in Destin, Florida when he was around six, so yes a while ago!

I gesso painted the top layer and did some tearing.

Then I did some stenciling with modeling paste and did lots of seed beed work on the torn edges, then I took corrugated board and misted it in layers of color then dry brused it with gesso. I added micro seed beads, then a layer of larger seed beads, then crushed up real seashells and layered them on. I just love all the texture all those different layers created!!

I added a layer of the treated corrugated board behind the photo and at the large tear at the bottom. Next, came a large seashell, cheesecloth and lots of  stash flowers, and a flower from the floral add on. I texture painted some of the edges of random flowers, added in pieces of sea glass and then inked some of the wood veneer skeleton leaves from the kit and tucked them in.

I had some leftover pieces of the treated corrugated board so I added them to form a piece that looks like a fence and then puff painted and added seed beads to the Prima "Pin It" chipboard from the kit.

This kit just looks like Summer to me, and I hope you love how I captured one of my Summer time memories of me and Draven! Thanks for the visit! Big warm hugs~Renea

Creating Unforgettable Memories With Tresors De Luxe~

Today, I have a mini to show you that I packed full of  those gorgeous Tresors De Luxe products!! I used Prima's Romance Novel Line of papers and got to work adding in lots of Tresor laces, flowers and embellishments to pull off that Vintage/Shabby Chic look that I love.

I did lots of paper layering, distressing and dimensional work, tucking in a Tresors:

Ivory Vintage Handmade Crochet Lace Doily DL-002

then added some Tresors:Lace Trim Embroidered Lace LA-165

andLace Trim Beaded LA-005

to the bottom

I added a Tresors:Rhinestone and Pearl Button RH-010

for  an accent piece, then created a floral layer from cheesecloth, some stash mulberry paper roses and some Tresors:

Pack of 24 Metallic Ivory Shabby Chic Roses PF-034

To get that frothy look on the D-rings I added some hand dyed seam binding, tulle and some Tresors:

I created a piece to tie my mini closed with from Tresors:

Ivory Italian Embroidered Lace LA-163

Here you can see a close up of those gorgeous Tresors products!!

Here is a back view of the album.

On the first page I created a pocket from Tresors:

Lace Fabric Trim GL-013

to tuck in 3 different double sided tags

The second page is actually a sewn pocket with a velcro closure, perfect for tucking in photos, momentos and small treasures.  For it, I created a die cut photo spot and added on a piece of misted Tresors:

and popped a Tresors:

On top of it

The 3rd page has a fussy cut piece overlayed onto the paper to form a pocket with a little envelope and 3 double sided pull out journaling spots. The 4th page has photo spots accented by a Tresors:

Rustic Yellow Shabby Chic Flower Embellishment with Wooden Beads FL-094

and some more of those Tresors:

Pack of 24 Dusty Rose PF-018

For the 5th and 6th page I created matching die cut photo spots, accented with some more of the Tresors fabric roses, and then ran misted Tresors:

White Venice Bridal Embroidered Floral Crafting Fabric Lace Trim LA-015

down the sides.
The pages were created to form pockets and each have a large, double sided pull out tag topped with seam binding and Tresors Roses.
The Victorian Velvet Glitter Glass Butterfly is from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

And the 7th and 8th pages  feature spots for journaling and photos as well as  a pocket with two double side tags topped with Tresors Roses.

Scraps Of Darkness Reveals It's March Kit~Radioactive

After this long (very long), dull (very dull) Winter, the Scraps Of Darkness March Kit~Radioactive landed at my front door and washed my world in color!! Just in time too, because I was starting to get a little cabin fever!! So if you are looking for a ray of sunshine in your neck of the woods, I encourage you to grab one of these colorfully fun kits and get to creating!!

The following is the whimsically FAB sketch by Sue Pup:

And the following is my take on the sketch, using some photos of my oldest niece Megan and one of her long time friends Melissa! Their happy BFF shots were just perfect for all the fun elements and funky fresh colors and patterns in this kit!

I started with a base layer of the kit paper, then took a second layer and distressed and tore the edges. I then coated the paper with gesso, and gradient misted it to get the colors I wanted.

I then tore more layers of papers and tucked in one of the circular calenders from the kit, and added my first photo of the girls and then popped on one of the Prima Chipboard pieces from the kit that said "Click It" .

Next I fussy cut out the frame fom the Coordinating Paper Add on, created a burlap string "hanger" that I topped it with a little inked wooden heart from the kit, inked then stamped one of the wooden butterflies, mounted the 2nd photo of the girls and tucked the butterfly under the corner.

I then created flower layers with cheesecloth flowers from the kit and Floral Add On, inked wooden foliage from the kit, and another stamped wooden butterfly. Next I added the large Prima Chipboard "Hippie Chic" piece from the kit.

I created another floral layer at the corner of the second photo.  I went through my layout and added some of the Tim Holtz Rub On Phrases from the kit.

For a really cool look, I stamped tissue paper with the Chevron stamp from the kit, tore it into strips and added it to my layout, then stamped with gesso using the same stamp randomly throughout the layout. In the bottom corner I added a piece of "Love" Chipboard from the kit, then rolled some of the leftover paper from all my tearing, and topped it with some burlap string and a little inked wooden heart from the kit.

I tied some long burlap strings into bows and added more little hearts and added them to the layout, then puff painted some of my edges and flowers, heated it up to get that yummy texture I love!!

So fun, so funky and so fresh!!! Perfect for a young, more mixed media look that looks great with all those selfies and BFF pics!

When I saw all the lemon elements to this kit, I just couldn't resist doing some fun and FABulous Lemonade Cards!!

I just loved the boldness of combining some black with the yellows and lime greens~so delicious!!

For this card, I used lots of different layers of distressed papers.
The Lemonade Crush Butterflies  are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

Did some stippling with white acrylic paint, then added cheesecloth, and flowers from the floral add on and my stash, texture painting the edges of the daisy leaves.

I created a fun polka dot bow from some stash ribbon, and then topped it with one of the little wood veneer lemons from the kit that I colored in and then added tinted glitter glass to for texture.

I added matching paper to the back for a finished look.

This card has layers of distressed kit papers as well, and then I stipple painted randomly with white acrylic paint.

I added another polka dot bow, but this time topped it with a rhinestone button.
The Polka Dots & Bling Butterflies are from my Reneabouquets Etsy Shop.

I then added cheesecloth for texture and flowers from the floral add on and my stash.

And the back of this one is finished out in matching paper as well.

I hope you caught a few rays of sunshine from my blog! I know I always catch a few from all the sweet comments that all my scrappy friends leave me! Here's to warmer days and a more relaxed pace! Hugs~Renea

Tea With Friends And Tresors De Luxe~

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! Today, I have a layout to share with you that I created for the Tresors De Luxe Etsy Shop. I combined some of those gorgeous laces, trims, flowers, and embellishments with the March Scraps Of Elegance Kit that featured some of those amazing Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers to create a sweet tea themed layout.

I layered in 2 different layers of the G45 papers did some misting and stamping and then got to work filling in the details.

At the bottom left hand corner I trimed off a section of the top paper to reveal the bottom layer, and then added in two layers of the Tresors:

Pink Satin and Organza Two Layer Trim SA-002

I then tucked a Tresors:

Ivory Vintage Handmade Cotton Crochet Doily DL-005

underneath, letting it peek out.

I added a distressed paper layer, my photo and then ran a piece of Tresors Venice Drop lace across the bottom. I then added a

Multi Toned Pink and Brown Sequins and Beaded Fabric Flower FL-128

and fussy cut out some of the tea pieces from some of the G45 papers and colored in some of the details with a distress marker. I layered in more flowers, hand stamped-fussy cut leaves, and then added a Tresors:

On the opposite side a layered in a G45 sticker piece and some more flowers and hand stamped leaves.

I created two seperate sentiment pieces from the paper "a cup of tea warms the soul like a good friend."
I then topped them off with some of the oh so sweet Tresors:

Pink Bumble Bee Crafting Embellishments  AN-015

are they not the sweetest?!!!

Thank you so much for joining me today, and if you would like to add some of those Tresor Touches to your projects, don't forget to use the code: Renea10 for 10% off your Tresors De Luxe Etsy purchase at checkout!! OK now I am off to get ready for Monday!! Hugs ~Renea

Inkido March Challenge~Easter Cards

Each month over at the Inkido Blog , we have a fun challenge with a mood board photo prompt, and this month's is so blingalicious!!

I actually created two different card and tag sets based on that FABulous mood board.
The first one is an Easter Card & Tag Set that features some of the newest Spring Time Papers by Inkido and can be found here on the Paper Craft Scandanavia Site:
or through the supplies links at the bottom of my post.

I was inspired by not only all that bling but by the touches of greens and yellows, and decided on a Rustic meets Shabby look.

For the card I used layers of deeply distressed and edge stained papers, I added burlap and lace for texture, and the sweet little chick image is from the papers~sweet!

I took an Inkido corrugated board heart and inked and dry brushed it with gesso then added on some Inkido bling, some burlap and topped it with a little Inkido mulberry paper rose.

At the bottom I took some of the Inkido Sheaf pieces and tied them together with burlap strips and topped them with one of those blingalicious Harmony Flowers.

For the tag, I took another corrugated heart, dry brushing and inking it then added more bling, burlap, another mulberry flower, some lace, some more Sheaf and fussy cut a little butterfly from the papers and topped it with some of the bling and popped it on.

I just punched a hole and tied some of the left over burlap string through it to create my hang tag.

I literally squeeled when I saw this little Chicken paper in my newest DT parcel!!! I am a country girl at heart and I just love chickens, and who can resist chickens with red umbrellas??!! Luckily, the reds and yellows were perfect for this challenge, and I pulled them together with some rustic pieces to get that beautiful meets edgy look that I love so much.

I layered in lots of layers of the Inkido papers, extreme distressing the edges and staining them, then tearing a spot in the top of the design to let some of the chicken wire I used peek through.
The yellow and red mulberry paper flowers are from Inkido, and the little image is from the papers.

I cut the papers so that on the inside of the card, I got that sweet little image in the bottom corner.

And this is the back side finished out.

And here is the sweet little matching tag I created with an Inkido Corrugated Tag, a layer of paper and a fussy cut, Stickle edged matching image along with some more of that chicken wire.

I love, love, love, the new paper lines from Inkido!! If you haven't seen them yet you should head over and take a peak! I love that they have papers with little images you can cut out and use, and whether you are shooting for a traditional look, rustic, Shabby Chic, or whimsical look there is something for everyone!!
Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you have a great weekend! Hugs ~Renea
